When we started this venture, we didn’t set out with a manifesto. It was more of an experiment:
Could we source everything we needed to sew clothing without plastic? And if we could - would it actually work?
The answer, we found, was a resounding yes. These products exist, they work - and they're often far more satisfying to work with than synthetic alternatives.
But we discovered something else too. A network of small, largely overlooked manufacturers who are quietly trying to reshape the industry. By thinking outside the box, taking risks, and innovating, they’re creating incredible materials that challenge the status quo. Supporting them feels meaningful - not just ethical.
What we didn’t expect was that going plastic-free became the only real way for us to address another crucial piece of the sustainability puzzle: transparency and traceability.
Most supply chains in the fashion industry are complex and convoluted. Add synthetic raw materials to the mix, and they become completely impenetrable. Plastic-free products offer a rare opportunity for a fully visible and traceable supply chain.
And that matters - because there is no sustainability without traceability. If we can’t see a system, we can’t learn from it. And we certainly can’t change it.
"The most radical thing we can do is pay attention.”

So whilst the microplastics may have drawn us in, it was the stories and the connection that made us stay.
