I am the first biodegradable fusible interlining made of 100% cotton and a 100% biopolymer adhesive backing. 

I am an innovative, high quality, industry grade fusing developed with end-of-life in mind by world-leading interlining specialists. I was independently tested and found to be both biodegradable and ecotoxicologically harmless. So you can toss me in your worm farm or home compost.

Plus, I can be fused at a lower temperature than mainstream fusible interlining showing great potential for energy saving. Have I got your attention yet?

I am perfect for reinforcing shirt and blouse collars, cuffs, plackets and waistbands on heavyweight fabrics and where greater structure is needed.

My Specs

Care Instructions:

  • Machine wash max 40°C
  • Bleach if needed
  • Tumble dry low
  • Iron medium heat
  • Wet clean
  • Gentle dry clean, any solvent except trichloroethylene

Fusing Press Instructions:

  • Temperature: 127°C
  • Time: 15-20 seconds
  • Pressure: 2-4 bar | 2-4 kg/cm² | 20-40 N/cm²

*Fusing pressure depends on the type of press used.

*It is recommended that fusing trials and subsequent care treatments are carried out before production commences.

Why I'm Better

Biopolymer Adhesive is a bio-based polymer glue developed as an alternative to synthetic glue found on conventional fusible interlinings. In an independently run soil burial test from Hohenstein Laboratories this interlining was found to be biodegradeable in microbially active soil. More significant was it's ecotoxicological assessment which showed no negative effects on either the germination of water cress nor in earthworms in the acute toxicity test.
