FLOWER PUSH PIN | Grey
FLOWER PUSH PIN | Grey
I am the prettiest set of three iridescent, flower-shaped push pins in grey. My button is cut from the Akoya shell, or mother of pearl, in a gentle design reminiscent of hand drawn flowers. Combined with the natural curves of the original shells, each piece is unique in its beauty.
My pin is designed to float 4mm from the walls surface creating a soft shadow against the background. Compared to ordinary pushpins and thumbtacks, my needle is thinner and stronger, and because of my thoughtful design I am easy to remove without damaging fingernails.
Fun Fact: The largest production area of shellfish buttons in Japan is a town without a sea. The six rivers flowing through the town connected Osaka to Nara and the area became a hub for boat transportation and led to the development of the shell button industry. This was an important source of income for people especially during the agriculture off-seasons. Check out Cohana's Story for more cool tidbits about what makes me special.
