NAMBU IRON PAPERWEIGHT | Blue
NAMBU IRON PAPERWEIGHT | Blue
I am a strong but playful cast iron paperweight with deep roots in Japanese traditional craft and daily life. I am made from Iwate's traditional Nambu ironware hand cast in a fun button design. My colours are applied so that you can enjoy the texture and feel of the cast surface.
I hold fabrics and paper patterns firmly, my buttonholes can be used as a pencil holder and you can stack me neatly for storage. I am the perfect balance of practicality and visual appeal.
Fun Fact: In 1975, Nambu ironware was certified as the first Japanese traditional craft by the Japanese government. The certification of Traditional Craft is the title that can only be given to crafts that are made by traditional and historical handicrafts and that are deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Japanese people. Check out Cohana's Story for more cool tidbits about what makes me special.
